Terrie Overholser received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of
Houston College of Optometry in Houston, Texas - with magna cum laude honors. She
continued her optometric training with a fellowship at Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye
Institute - consistently ranked one of the top eye hospitals in the world. Here she
received training in ophthalmologic co-management, glaucoma, ocular disease,
trauma, retinopathy, laser surgery, and cataracts. Prior to her eye training, Dr.
Overholser received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Wright State University in
Dayton, Ohio. She was a registered nurse in Ohio and Florida for more than ten years.

Dr. Overholser has 15 years of extensive clinical experience in eye care - including
adult and pediatric eye examinations, eye surgery co-management, and evaluation
and treatment of eye disease. As an optometry student, Dr. Overholser was inducted
into the Gold Key Honor Society, and received numerous clinical excellence awards
for patient care.

Florida licensed and board certified in ocular pharmaceutical agents, Dr. Overholser's
training and experience allow her to diagnose, treat, and manage or co-manage all
eye conditions.

Dr. Overholser has cared for patients in the Ocala and Central Florida area since 1999.
Ray Overholser, O.D.
Dr. Ray Overholser graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.A. degree in
Psychology. He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry
with magna cum laude honors. Dr. Overholser completed post-graduate clinical
training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami Florida. He has over 16 years
experience in primary care optometry, and has also practiced as a low vision specialist.

Dr. Overholser holds 2 patents for the design of a low vision magnifier. Florida licensed
and board certified in ocular pharmaceutical agents, Dr. Overholser is specially trained
to diagnose, treat, and manage or co-manage all eye conditions. He is proud of the
relationships he has built with area specialists, and he ensures that patients are referred
to the correct surgeon for each indicated procedure. Dr. Overholser frequently fits and
dispenses specialty contact lenses and is comfortable prescribing glasses for difficult
eyesight problems such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and glaucoma.
